Privacy Policy
What Snoot collects, why it needs it, and the choices available to teams and visitors.
Effective July 13, 2026
Who is responsible for your data?
Snoot is a service operated by Robert DeLuca in the United States. For account, billing, website, and direct support data, Snoot decides why and how that information is used.
When a Snoot customer installs the chat widget on its website, that customer decides what support data to collect from its visitors. The customer is responsible for its own privacy notice and instructions to Snoot. Snoot processes that visitor data to provide the service to the customer.
Information Snoot collects
- Account and workspace data: name, email address, organization, role, notification preferences, authentication tokens, and workspace settings.
- Customer-support content: conversations, messages, contact details, account attributes supplied by a customer, internal notes, tickets, attachments, assignments, and conversation status.
- Widget activity: random browser and chat identifiers, chat-open and message activity, device category, and—only when the workspace enables the separate setting—page and referrer URLs.
- Billing data: subscription, plan, payment status, and Stripe customer references. Snoot does not receive or store complete card numbers.
- Operational data: request, delivery, security, and error logs needed to run and protect the service.
How Snoot uses information
Snoot uses the information above to:
- provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the service;
- deliver conversations, notifications, continuation links, and account email;
- show workspace members the inbox, contact context, tickets, and analytics they request;
- process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations; and
- understand and improve Snoot without selling personal information or using customer conversations to train advertising profiles.
Analytics choices
Snoot's customer-facing analytics begin when a visitor actually opens chat. A workspace admin can disable durable visitor analytics entirely. Page and referrer URL capture is a separate opt-in workspace setting. Support presence can still work when analytics are off.
When information is shared
Snoot shares information only as needed to operate the service, follow a customer's instructions, protect people and the service, complete a business transfer, or comply with law. Current service providers include:
- Postmark for transactional and support-follow-up email;
- Stripe for subscription billing and payment management; and
- Cloudflare R2 for configured file and attachment storage.
Snoot does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and deletion
Workspace content is kept while the workspace uses Snoot so its members can continue conversations and meet their support obligations. The Free plan limits visible conversation history to 30 days; that product limit is not a promise that all underlying records are deleted after 30 days.
Visitor analytics sessions use each workspace's retention period, which defaults to 365 days, and expired sessions are removed by scheduled maintenance. Shorter-lived logs, tokens, backups, billing records, and security records follow their operational or legal purpose. When information is no longer needed for those purposes, Snoot deletes or de-identifies it.
Your choices and rights
Team members can update account information, download a personal data export, and delete their own account from Settings. The final workspace admin must first transfer or close the workspace so it is not orphaned. Visitors should normally send access, correction, or deletion requests to the company whose website uses Snoot; Snoot will help that customer respond where required.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to appeal or complain to a privacy authority. Snoot will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.
Children and international use
Snoot is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. Do not use Snoot to intentionally collect children's personal information without the notices, consent, and safeguards required by law.
Snoot is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other places where its service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws from your location.
Contact and changes
Email privacy questions or requests to [email protected]. Snoot may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be dated here and, when appropriate, communicated in the product or by email.
